Job Title: Junior Network Administrator
Job Type: Contract (8-Month Assignment)
Pay Range: $25-$29/hour, based on experience
Position Overview
We are seeking a Junior Network Administrator to support, maintain, and monitor network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security. This role will also provide customer-focused technical support to end users across PC, server, and mainframe environments, diagnosing issues and delivering timely resolutions to enhance the overall user experience.
The ideal candidate has strong technical fundamentals, a service-oriented mindset, and the ability to troubleshoot methodically in a fast-paced environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career IT professional looking to build hands-on experience in network administration and end-user support.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and maintain network infrastructure including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless systems
- Monitor network performance and assist in troubleshooting connectivity and system issues
- Provide technical support for hardware, software, and applications across desktop, server, and mainframe environments
- Respond to help desk tickets and resolve issues while maintaining strong customer service standards
- Assist with system upgrades, patches, and routine maintenance activities
- Document technical issues, solutions, and support procedures
- Collaborate with senior IT staff on infrastructure projects and continuous improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Networking, or related field
- 1-3 years of experience in IT support, help desk, network support, or systems administration
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to network monitoring tools or ticketing systems
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CompTIA A+, or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) are a plus
- Experience supporting enterprise environments is preferred but not required
