Registered Nurse

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse (RN), under the supervision of the Chief Nursing Officer, provides physical assessments of residents, implements residents’ treatment plans, evaluates response to treatment, provides complete documentation, performs physical restraint assessments, administers medications as prescribed, and provides health‑care education for residents and families. The RN supervises the daily duties of the Mental Health Techs and LPN staff, ensuring all residents are maintained in a safe environment.

Duties are performed in accordance with the ANA Standards of Practice for Psychiatric Mental Health Care, facility mission, values, policies, and behavioral standards.

Full Time – 36 hours per week, 12‑hour shifts, 7 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.

• Valid Oklahoma RN license required
• CPR certification preferred
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program required
• BSN or master’s degree preferred
• Minimum of one year psychiatric experience in mental health nursing preferred
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Successfully complete a drug test
• Successfully pass a national background check
• Physical agility to manage patients
• Ability to push, pull and lift up to 40 pounds
• Strong computer skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong leadership skills
• Exposure to psychiatric patients who may exhibit violent or aggressive behavior
• Potential exposure to communicable diseases, blood/body fluids and other hazardous waste
