Advanced Practice Provider
The purpose for the APP position is to support functions in the neurology program as a clinician, educator, team member, and advocate for our patient population. The APP will see outpatient follow up neurology visits in order to create treatment plans, communicate with patient/family members regarding their care, coordinate with schools (for seizure action plans, IEPs, medication forms and other medical forms), and take first line call for neurology after hours 10 days per month (Monday – Thursday).

Percent of Time
Outpatient Clinics – 8 half day clinics with a goal for the patient to alternate between APP and physician. Examples include the following:
- Seizure follow-up visits
- Headache follow-up visits
- Developmental Delay follow-up visits
- Tic Disorder follow-up
- VNS programming

On-Call Responsibility with patient care giver

School and Patient
Education:
- Seizure action plan completion
- Neurologically related school associated forms
- VNS training

Other duties as assigned.

Education:
Minimum of Master's degree in Nursing sufficient to achieve Advanced Practice Registered Nurse / Nurse Practitioner (APRN or NP) designation
OR
Minimum of Master's degree from accredited Physician Assistant program to achieve (PA-C) designation
OR
Minimum of Master's degree in Nursing sufficient to achieve Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) designation
Experience:
Previous Pediatric experience required
License/Certification/Credential:
Nurse Practitioner / Advanced Practice Registered Nurse
Active Registered Nurse (RN) and Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber (APNP) license in State of Oklahoma AND Active Board Certification - Nurse Practitioner (NP) Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)
Physician Assistant:
Active Physician Assistant (PA-C) license in the State of Oklahoma AND Active Physician Assistant Board Certification.
Clinical Nurse Specialist:
Active Registered Nurse (RN) and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license in the State of Oklahoma AND Active Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) Board Certification.
Certification through national certifying Board; pediatric certification preferred
OBNDD – eligible
DEA – eligible
BLS required or ability to obtain upon hire
