D-M Products, Inc. is a commercial glazing contracting company servicing the Pittsburgh region and surrounding markets. We work with general contractors, architects, and owners to deliver high quality curtain wall, storefront, entrances, interior glazing, and other specialty façade systems on a wide range of commercial projects. We are seeking an Estimating / Preconstruction Manager to support our front-end project efforts and help position work for successful execution.

Position Summary:

The Estimating / Preconstruction Manager will be responsible for estimating and preconstruction activities for glazing projects from concept through contract award. This individual will prepare budgets and proposals, review drawings and specifications, coordinate vendor pricing, and work closely with company leadership, general contractors, architects, owners, and key suppliers to help pursue, position, and secure new work. This role will also support the turnover of awarded projects to operations.

• Prepare detailed bids, budgets, and conceptual estimates for commercial glazing systems, including curtain wall, storefront, entrances, and related specialty façade scopes.
• Review architectural drawings, specifications, addenda, and bid documents to determine project scope, risks, and pricing requirements.
• Perform takeoffs, solicit vendor and subcontractor quotations, and assemble complete project pricing.
• Develop proposal assumptions, clarifications, exclusions, and qualification letters to define scope and support the bid.
• Coordinate pre-bid RFIs, clarifications, and scope questions with general contractors, architects, owners, and suppliers as needed.
• Review vendor and subcontractor proposals for completeness, accuracy, and alignment with the project requirements.
• Participate in bid reviews, pre-award discussions, and scope alignment efforts prior to contract award.
• Engage key suppliers early to confirm system feasibility, lead times, and critical material considerations.
• Work with company leadership to help pursue, position, and secure new work through competitive pricing, scope development, and effective proposal support.
• Work with internal leadership and project managers to align estimating, procurement, schedule, and constructability considerations during preconstruction.
• Assist with turnover of awarded projects by organizing estimate files, vendor quotes, and related preconstruction information for the operations team.
• Support pricing for change orders, extra work, and other estimating-related needs on active projects as required.

• 5+ years of experience in estimating or preconstruction within the glazing, façade, or exterior envelope industry.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, shop drawings, and specifications.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Bluebeam, and takeoff software.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and experience working on shop drawings is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• A proactive mindset with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to manage multiple bid opportunities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Full-time employment, Monday-Friday; office is located in Bethel Park, PA.
