Electrical Superintendent – O&M North Slope Construction

JOB SUMMARY

The Electrical Superintendent is responsible for safety, drawing interpretation, quality, subcontractor coordination, and the overall installation of electrical work, including foundations, cable, and panel installation, associated excavations, termination, and testing. This position is also responsible for managing employee work schedules and day to day work activities for all employees in the related field. Estimate’s and ensures deliverables conform to customer documents, field philosophy, and applicable code and industry standard requirements.

ESSENTIAL

DUTIES
  • Analyze preliminary and detail design documents including plans, specifications, and procedures as necessary to develop preliminary and detailed estimates and scheduled for projects.
  • Work with Scheduling team for development detailed project schedules.
  • Coordinate vendor-bidding process for all outsourced projects and maintenance work.
  • Execute and maintain all project and maintenance subcontracts.
  • Develop ROM estimates based on Preliminary Engineering data.
  • Coordinate development of detail estimates based on IFA/IFC work packages.
  • Support construction managers with negotiations and special estimating issues.
  • Provide on-site administrative and technical management of field related activities on construction project site.
  • Daily field reporting.
  • Assist General Superintendent with change management for the projects.
  • Develop a marked-up/as-built set of drawings to be used to produce the record set documents.
  • Develop RFIs or DCR’s.
  • Ensure that the project maintains its established schedule.
  • Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering information and requirements, setting priorities.
  • Obtains bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials; identifying qualified subcontractors; negotiating price.
  • Resolves cost discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
  • Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Maintains quality service by following organization standards.
  • Maintains continuity among corporate, division, and local work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Supervise and provide guidance to craft personnel.
  • Other duties will be assigned to this position as needed require.
  • Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures.
  • Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
  • A Valid Driver’s License is required.
  • A High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • The ability to work 80.5 – 84 hours a week on a 2x2 or 3x3 rotation is required.
  • A North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) safety training certification is required.
  • Proficient experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Power Bi, and One Drive) required.
  • Minimum of ten (6) years’ experience as an Electrical Superintendent.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • At least ten (10) years’ experience working in the Oil and Gas industry, Petrochemical industry, on the North Slope, or in an Arctic environment is preferred.
