Adult Probation Officer 1/2B – Bethel, Alaska
Provide supervision and case management for adult male and female offenders who are required to report to the Department of Corrections. Key duties include:
- Conduct office meetings, interviews, and risk/need assessments.
- Administer urinalysis tests and document historical and current information.
- Arrange referrals for treatment and assist with community resources.
- Perform field contacts, violation arrests, and offender transports.
- Ensure offender compliance with court or parole board conditions and report violations.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in any field, or four years of paraprofessional experience in probation, parole, pretrial, criminal justice, or related fields.
- Alternative: four years of combined post‑secondary education and paraprofessional experience (equity of study hours counts as experience).
- For Advanced Level (2B):
Bachelor’s degree plus one year of professional experience, or five years of combined education and experience.
All candidates must be at least 21 years old, a U.S. citizen or national, possess a high school diploma or GED, and hold a valid U.S. driver’s license.
Working EnvironmentOffice located in Bethel, Alaska. The role requires travel to surrounding communities via small aircraft, boats, or ice roads. Expect interaction with defendants, victims, court personnel, and community partners.
