RN - Ambulatory

Responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for directing and coordinating nursing care for patients based on nursing practice standards and collaborates with other healthcare professionals to provide quality, cost-effective, and efficient care to achieve the best possible patient outcomes. This role applies age-specific considerations and cultural diversity when rendering patient care.

• Direct and coordinate nursing care for patients.
• Utilize the nursing process in the provision of patient care.
• Administer treatments and medications, and interpret diagnostic tests.
• Provide education to patients, families, and significant others.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals.
• Supervise unit secretaries and Patient Care Technicians in collaboration with the Charge Nurse.

• Must have completed a program of education in nursing from an NLN approved institution.
• Preferred one year of experience in a healthcare setting as a Registered Nurse.
• Must be licensed in good standing in the State of Alaska as a Registered Professional Nurse.
• Current BLS certification required.
