  • Orientation week may affect guaranteed hours; first‑week hours are not guaranteed if orientation starts on a Tuesday
Responsibilities
  • Deliver patient care through the nursing process: assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Direct and coordinate nursing care for patients based on established nursing practice standards.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to provide quality, cost‑effective, and efficient care; serve as a resource when needed.
  • Apply age‑specific considerations and cultural diversity in care delivery; educate patients and families.
  • Administer medications, interpret diagnostic tests, provide patient/family education, and document actions.
  • Maintain basic EKG skills and other essential nursing skills; supervise unit secretaries and PCTs in collaboration with the Charge Nurse.
  • Document care activities and ensure continuity of care across the care continuum.
Requirements
  • Current Alaska Registered Professional Nurse license in good standing.
  • Completion of an NLN‑approved nursing program.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Preferred one year of health‑care experience as a registered nurse.
  • Must be able to practice nursing per Alaska nursing regulations; strong verbal and written communication skills; flexible with work schedule; able to work in a patient care setting.
  • Must pass and maintain position‑specific competencies.
  • Proof of completed COVID‑19 vaccination required.
