Description:
Responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Responsible for directing and coordinating nursing care for patients based on nursing practice standards. Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to provide quality, cost-effective, and efficient care to achieve the best possible patient outcomes. Serves as a resource person when the situation requires.
Applies age-specific considerations and cultural diversity when rendering patient care. Supports the mission of the organization. Responsible for the care of all patients from birth to elderly, including post-surgical and behavioral health patients. Conducts the initial assessment and re-assessment every 24 hours. Requires completion of a nursing education program from an NLN-approved institution. Minimum experience preferred as dependent on position.
Cognitive and technical knowledge required, with the ability to manage care across the continuum. Must be flexible with work schedule and possess the ability for independent actions within prescribed limits. Able to utilize the nursing process in the provision of patient care. Able to administer treatments, medications, interpret diagnostic tests, and provide patient/family/significant other education. Collaborates with other professionals in healthcare.
Knowledge of medical terminology is necessary. Ability to work in a patient care setting. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to document actions involved in care delivery accurately. Ability to follow guidelines and procedures effectively. Ability to present information and respond to questions from diverse groups. Theoretical knowledge of care management and continuity of care is required.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages; draw and interpret graphs; and input computer information. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables. Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Supervisory responsibilities include unit secretaries and patient care technicians in collaboration with the Charge Nurse.
Looking for a candidate with pediatrics and adult experience. Proof of completed COVID vaccinations is required.
