Hospital-based Med Surg
- Deliver patient care using the nursing process: assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Direct and coordinate nursing care for patients across the lifespan, including birth through elderly, post-surgical, and behavioral health cases
- Conduct initial assessments and 24-hour reassessments; administer treatments and medications; interpret diagnostic tests
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to provide quality, cost-effective, and efficient care; educate patients and families; advocate for patient outcomes
- Serve as a resource for the care team and assist with coordinating care; supervise unit secretaries and patient care technicians in collaboration with the Charge Nurse
- Apply age-specific considerations and cultural diversity in all patient interactions
- Active Alaska RN license in good standing
- Graduation from an NLN-approved nursing program
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Non‑Violent Crisis Intervention Training (NVCI)
- Proof of COVID‑19 vaccination
- New graduates accepted; pediatrics and adult experience preferred
- Orientation provided during the first week of the assignment
- Travel assignment with ongoing support from a dedicated recruiter
