Position Summary:

The Focused Care Clinic (FCC) Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation. The FCC RN Is responsible for directing and coordinating nursing care for patients based on nursing practice standards. Collaborates with other healthcare professional to provide quality, cost-effective and efficient care and to achieve the best possible patient outcome.

The FCC RN will work outpatient clinic as needed. FCC RN Serves as a resource person when the situation requires. Applies age specific considerations and cultural diversity when rendering patient care. Supports Yukon Kuskokwim Health Corporation's mission statement. Is responsible for care of all patients from birth to elderly.

Position

Qualifications:

Minimum Education:

Must have completed a program of education in nursing from an NLN approved institution.

Minimum Experience:

Preferred one-year experience in health care setting as a Registered Nurse.

License, Certification, Registration:
Must be licensed in good standing in the State of Alaska as a Registered Professional Nurse. Current BLS. The successful candidate will be required to pass and maintain competencies for this position.

Equipment/Tools:
Office equipment (i.e. computer, telephone, fax machine, copy machine) Medical equipment as appropriate for position (EKG, Vital Sign Machine, Glucometer)

Specialized Knowledge and

Skills:

Able to practice nursing as described in the Alaska Status regarding the practice of Registered Nursing. Must be flexible with work schedule and possess the ability for independent actions within prescribed limits. Able to utilize the nursing process in the provision of patient care. Good human relations and oral/written communications skills.

Able to administer treatments, medications, interpret diagnostic tests, provide patient/family/significant other education and collaborate with other professions. Ability to follow guidelines and procedures.

LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
