Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care to neonatal patients in the NICU, ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and comfort. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive, family-centered neonatal care from birth to infants requiring intensive support.
Responsibilities:
- Assess neonatal patients to determine their medical and developmental needs.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans based on assessment findings and nursing standards.
- Administer treatments, medications, and monitor diagnostic tests to support patient health.
- Educate families on neonatal care, procedures, and post-discharge instructions.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
- Document all patient interactions, interventions, and progress accurately and efficiently.
Qualifications:
- Must hold a valid Registered Nurse license in the State of Alaska in good standing.
- Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
- Minimum 1-2 years recent NICU or neonatal intensive care experience.
- Current BLS, NRP, and Fetal Monitoring certifications required; neonatal certification preferred.
- Proficient in use of medical and nursing equipment, including fetal monitors and datascope.
- Demonstrates excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
