Responsibilities
  • Deliver patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation.
  • Direct and coordinate nursing care for patients based on standard nursing practice; collaborate with other health professionals to provide quality, cost-effective care and achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Serve as a resource and apply age-specific considerations and cultural diversity in rendering patient care.
  • Administer treatments and medications, interpret diagnostic tests, provide patient and family education, and document care activities.
  • Utilize basic EKG skills and relevant medical equipment as appropriate for the position.
  • Supervise unit staff such as secretaries and clinical support personnel in collaboration with the Charge Nurse as needed.
Requirements
  • Current, valid Alaska Registered Professional Nurse license in good standing; ability to practice per Alaska RN standards.
  • Completion of a nursing education program from an NLN-approved institution.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Preferred one year of healthcare experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • Ability to work in a hospital environment, apply the nursing process, and collaborate across disciplines.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow professional guidelines and procedures; strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proof of completed COVID-19 vaccination required.
