Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse Manager for a travel leadership assignment in Bethel, Alaska.

This position is ideal for a seasoned RN leader with strong experience in nursing operations, staff management, regulatory compliance, clinical quality, and care coordination.
The Nurse Manager will provide day-to-day leadership for assigned nursing services, support staff performance, help ensure safe and efficient patient care, and collaborate with physicians, nursing leadership, administration, and other departments.
Candidates must have a BSN, an active Alaska RN license, current BLS certification, and substantial progressive nursing management experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and operational oversight for assigned nursing services.
  • Supervise and support Registered Nurses, clinical staff, and other assigned team members.
  • Coordinate staffing, scheduling, coverage, and daily workflow.
  • Promote safe, high-quality, patient-centered nursing care.
  • Monitor staff performance and provide coaching, mentoring, and professional development.
  • Assist with recruitment, onboarding, orientation, and competency validation.
  • Support employee performance management and corrective action processes when needed.
  • Monitor compliance with clinical policies, regulatory requirements, and professional nursing standards.
  • Participate in quality-improvement and patient-safety initiatives.
  • Identify operational issues and implement practical solutions.
  • Promote effective communication across nursing, physicians, administration, and ancillary departments.
  • Manage patient-care services across the continuum of care.
  • Support clinical escalation and assist with complex patient-care situations.
  • Ensure appropriate nursing documentation and clinical accountability.
  • Monitor departmental productivity and resource utilization.
  • Support development and implementation of policies, procedures, and workflows.
  • Participate in leadership meetings and interdisciplinary planning.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
  • Ensure staff maintain required competencies and certifications.
  • Perform additional clinical or leadership responsibilities based on operational needs.
Required Qualifications Candidates must have
  • Graduate of an approved nursing education program
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
  • Active Registered Nurse license in good standing in the State of Alaska
  • Current BLS certification
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive nursing management experience
  • Strong knowledge of nursing operations and clinical care delivery
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulatory and accreditation standards
  • Ability to manage care across the continuum
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently within established policies and organizational standards
  • Flexibility to adjust schedule based on operational needs
Preferred Qualifications Strong candidates may also have
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)
  • Master’s degree in healthcare administration or another healthcare-related field
  • At least 3 years of direct clinical nursing experience
  • Previous Nurse Manager experience in acute care
  • Outpatient clinical management experience
  • Previous interim or travel nursing leadership experience
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary clinical teams
  • Experience with quality improvement and regulatory readiness
  • Experience with staffing, budgeting, productivity, and workforce management
