Job Summary:

A practical or vocational nurse (LPN/LVN), licensed by the Alaska Board of Nursing and under the direct supervision of the nurse manager or supervising registered nurse (RN), and director of nursing with input from the school principal. Provides direct services to meet the health needs of students and staff throughout the District in accordance with District policies. While the position is assigned to a home school, LPNs may be required to provide additional health services to other schools in the District.

Grade 8: $24.84 - $27.81

Internal Hourly Rate:

Determined by the ESSA Negotiated Agreement

Work Hours:

7.5 hours per day

Work Year:

10 months

Job Qualifications/Requirements (please review job description for qualifications and duties of the position):

Current Alaska LPN license.

Possess current CPR/First Aid Certification, or have the ability to obtain it within 45 days of hire.

Experience in First Aid, CPR, and AED

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Knowledge of scope and standards of practice for licensed practical nurses in the state of Alaska.

Knowledge of special education laws, procedures, and compliance standards.

Ability to understand student health situations that require higher-level nursing assessments and decisions based on scope and standards of practice.

Must have a valid driver's license, use of a personal vehicle, and have the ability to gain access to military installations.
