JOB SUMMARY

The General Maintenance Technician performs duties required in support of Maintenance Operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Knowledge of various skilled tasks as required for carpentry, bolt‑up and general maintenance activities.
  • Knowledge of and ability to perform piping spool/valve installation and removal, rigging, blinding and minor pipe fitting.
  • Knowledge of structural and mechanical maintenance operations including the ability to interpret isometric and P&’s.
  • Perform manual labor activities, such as hauling, stacking materials, shoveling, and operating hand / power tools.
  • Promote safe work practices and adhere to company and client safety policies and procedures for work performed, including proper hazard recognition and mitigation of task.
  • Routinely perform safety and productivity observations; shop, field, and vehicle inspections.
  • Ability to participate in the respiratory protection program.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and be capable of performing assigned tasks with limited general technical guidance.
  • Some scaffold knowledge and experience preferred.
  • Some insulation knowledge and experience preferred.
  • Other duties will be assigned to this position as needs require.
  • Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures.
  • Support AES zero‑incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in mechanical piping, carpentry, and general maintenance required.
  • Scaffold Builder's card required.
  • Basic understanding of industrial insulation is required.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Driver License required.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
  • Petrochemical or oilfield experience preferred.
  • Five (5) years’ experience in a mechanical piping, rigging, and general piping Bolt‑up, and good labor skills preferred.
