The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF), Southcoast Region Highways and Aviation/M&O is looking for a Rural Airport Foreman in King Salmon to help us Keep Alaska Moving!

What you will be doing:
  • Supervise the airport maintenance crew (6 full‑time) by planning, scheduling, and directing daily operations.
  • Perform and oversee maintenance activities including snow and ice control, road and airport surface repair, vegetation management, and drainage work.
  • Operate and coordinate the use of heavy equipment such as plow trucks, loaders, graders, and dozers.
  • Maintain records and reports of daily work, inventory, and materials using the state’s Maintenance Management System (AGILE).
  • Respond to public inquiries, manage personnel matters, and coordinate with other agencies and DOT&PF departments on projects and permitting.

First Response:
  • Knowledge of emergency management methods, such as first aid, rescue techniques, and threat assessments.
Technical Requirements:
  • Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
  • Three years of experience in the maintenance and repair of highways and/or airports.
  • Qualifications to operate all required equipment at the duty station.
