Rotational Fuel Delivery Truck Driver (Transportation)

The Fuel Delivery Truck Driver reports directly to the Terminal Manager and is responsible for the safe loading, unloading, transportation and delivery of heating fuel and propane from Vitus' Bethel terminal to various customer locations and homes. This position requires a combination of skills and licensing, including but not limited to:
Alaska Class A commercial driver license (CDL) with an X endorsement; mechanical aptitude to perform routine equipment maintenance; serve customers in a positive, professional and ethical manner in accordance with company policies and procedures.

This is a rotational position with two weeks on and two weeks off schedule.

• Performs drivers daily vehicle inspection report and record on proper company form.
• Provides exceptional customer service
• Maintains Alaska Class A CDL with X endorsement and all other requirements to perform driving duties as assigned
• Delivers fuel to customers in safe and timely manner
• Performs routine and/or minor maintenance on company equipment in accordance with company policy and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations
• Maintains all driver related paperwork on a daily basis as directed by the Terminal Manager
• Maintains daily delivery log on proper company form
• Processes orders received via telephone, in person and website
• Performs local sales functions as appropriate and represents the company to local entities
• Reconciles truck inventory and customer delivery activity on a daily basis
• Climb bulk tank ladders to gauge fuel quantities, pull fuel samples and record fuel temperatures
• Load fuel trucks at truck rack in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company procedures
• Perform bulk tank and truck spill containment water draws in accordance with company procedures
• Secure truck rack site and lock truck rack pumps, meters, and any other equipment on site at the end of the day

• High school diploma, or equivalent
• Two (2) years of related experience and/or training
• State of AK Class A CDL with X endorsement

• Microsoft Office skills; specifically, Outlook, Excel and Word
• Competency in mechanical systems troubleshooting and repair
• Ability to communicate clearly, verbally and written
• Ability to read, write and speak English

• Ability to deal with a variety of variables in situations where limited standardization exists
• Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, maintain an attention to accuracy and detail

High school diploma, or equivalent

(1 year of directly related work experience may qualify to substitute 1 year of education to meet the education requirement)

• State of AK Class A CDL with X endorsement
• Attends training sessions, seminars and appropriate educational classes required by department.
• Computer skills commensurate with program and job applications.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud and may require the use of ear protection. Work is usually done out-of-doors, sometimes in extreme weather conditions, requiring the use of personal protective equipment to include, but not limited to, a reflective vest, steel toed boots, safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection.

The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, vehicles and equipment.
