The Estimator role at Primo Carpentry LLC is a full-time, on-site position based in Bethel, CT. The Estimator is responsible for reviewing project plans, specifications, and site conditions to prepare accurate cost estimates for residential and commercial construction and remodeling projects. Day-to-day tasks include performing material takeoffs, labor and time estimates, and obtaining pricing from suppliers and subcontractors. The Estimator will prepare detailed proposals, update estimates as project scopes change, and collaborate with project managers and carpenters to ensure budgets are realistic and aligned with client expectations.

This role also involves maintaining organized records of estimates, monitoring project costs against estimates, and supporting the bidding process to help secure new work.

• Ability to interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications; strong understanding of residential and commercial construction methods and materials.
• Experience estimating finish carpentry, trim work, cabinetry installation, and general home improvement projects.
• Proficiency with spreadsheets and basic estimating or project management software; strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to prepare clear proposals and coordinate with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
• Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines.
• Previous experience as an estimator or in a related construction role; field carpentry experience is a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or coursework in construction management or a related field is preferred.
• Valid driver's license and ability to work on-site in Bethel, CT and visit project locations as needed.
