The Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation is a Tribal health care organization, serving nearly 30,000 people living across rural, southwest Alaska in villages with populations from about 10 to more than 1,000. Position SummaryIn addition to the staff dentist responsibilities to provide clinical dental services within the priorities of the YKHC Dental Department and assist in dental prevention and dental health education efforts in the Sub Regional Clinics and surrounding villages; this lead dentist is responsible for creating, maintaining and educating the staff on the clinical dental systems needed for dental case management level care.
This includes but not limited to the dental scanner, dental mill, complete and removable dentures, endo and surgical extractions. This dentist will be responsible for working with manufacturers to ensure the systems are kept functional and up to date. This position enables the dental department by maintaining the systems needed to provide comprehensive care the patients in our region.
- Minimum Education: DDS or DMD degree from a dental school accredited by the commission of Dental Accreditation of the ADA.
- Minimum Experience: Minimum of 2-years of clinical experience as a dentist with at least 1 of those years being at YKHC in Bethel. Interest Dental public health, cross cultural experience, Y-K Delta exposure preferred. Time in Bethel may be required before dentist is stationed in the Sub Regional Clinics.
- License, Certification, Registration: Current license to practice dentistry in the United States of America. Credentials necessary for appointment to the Medical and Dental Staff of the YKDR Hospital.
