General Function: Nurturing, motivated, and professional individual responsible for the care, education, health, and well-being of a group of school-age children. Assists the head teacher with planning, implementing, and evaluating daily activities in accordance with the policies, procedures, and philosophies of the YMCA Children's Center, CT State Licensing Regulations, and CT Best Practice Guidelines for School Age Children. Maintains high levels of communication and support with staff, families, and the director.
Participates in YMCA events, maintains a professional and positive attitude, and stays current on YMCA and State of CT professional requirements.
Hours are 7:30 AM - 12:30 PM and 3:00 PM - 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday. This position is ideal for college students.
Minimum Requirements: Minimum age 16. Experience with children in a childcare setting is helpful.
