Job SummaryThe Senior Project Engineer is responsible for leading complex engineering projects from concept through completion, ensuring all technical efforts are delivered on time and within budget. This role serves as the technical lead, ensuring designs meet all customer specifications and requirements while balancing cost, schedule, and performance objectives. The Senior Project Engineer will collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, supply chain, program management, and customers, and will contribute significantly to proposal development and project planning.
Additionally, this role will provide mentorship to junior engineers.
- Lead all engineering efforts for a complex project or projects on time and budget
- Ensure design compliance with all project requirements
- Review customer specifications and requirements, and lead a project team to develop designs that best support them, including cost as a key design variable
- Provide budget, cost, and schedule input for design assignments
- Communicate clearly (written and oral) with manufacturing, supply chain, program management, and the customer as required
- Participate heavily in preparation of the more complex and significant proposals
- Interact with technical management, other professionals, technicians, and support personnel to coordinate, recommend, and confer regarding technical activities and progress
- Lead a project team or teams as assigned
- Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
- Attend appropriate engineering, customer, or business meetings
- Mentor and coach less experienced engineers
- Master’s degree in engineering or related technical field with a minimum of 7 years of experience
- Mastery of technologies and domain knowledge
- Knowledge and experience in multiple engineering disciplines
- Ability to independently lead a team of engineers to complete a complex project or projects
U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
