About the Opportunity
We are actively seeking a CAD Drafter to join a growing low-voltage and structured cabling team in the Danbury, CT area. This individual will work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and Field Teams to develop accurate telecommunications and structured cabling drawings for commercial projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with AutoCAD experience who is looking to grow within the low-voltage, telecommunications, and structured cabling industry.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain AutoCAD drawings for structured cabling systems.
- Produce MDF, IDF, and telecommunications room layouts.
- Develop cable pathway, riser, and floor plan drawings.
- Update redlines and generate as-built documentation.
- Coordinate with project managers and field technicians to ensure drawing accuracy.
- Review construction documents and incorporate design changes.
- Maintain drawing standards and project documentation.
- Support multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- 2+ years of AutoCAD drafting experience.
- Experience creating construction or telecommunications drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, floor plans, and technical documentation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience with structured cabling, low-voltage, telecommunications, fiber, or network infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of MDF/IDF layouts and telecommunications design standards.
- Experience with Revit or BIM software.
- Understanding of commercial construction environments.
- Experience preparing as-built documentation.
We are looking for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced project environment and wants to build a career supporting network infrastructure and structured cabling projects. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and comfortable working with both office and field teams.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Bethel, CT.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr.
