Assistant Controller

Summary of Responsibilities:

GRF CPAs & Advisors has served the Washington, DC metropolitan region since 1981, providing outsourced accounting, auditing, risk advisory and consulting, and tax services to a diverse client base including government contractors, professional service firms, nonprofit organizations, and others.

We are currently seeking an experienced senior-level accountant to join our dynamic and growing Outsourced Accounting and Advisory Services team. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting government contractors and working within the Unanet or Quick Books accounting platforms.

In this position, you will help supervise and execute client engagements using cloud-based accounting systems, particularly Unanet and Quick Books Online. Our team-based environment requires the ability to manage multiple priorities, collaborate effectively, quickly adopt new technologies, and communicate clearly with clients.

Salary Range: $79,000 - $105,000

Location: Fully Remote or In-Office (Bethesda, MD)

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in public accounting or private industry, with progressive responsibility. Experience with government contractors strongly preferred. Prior CPA firm experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in Quick Books and Unanet required or strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with cloud-based tools such as , Expensify, or similar platforms.
• Working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) compliance is a plus but not required.
• Ability to manage competing priorities across diverse client accounts.
• Strong organizational, communication, and team leadership skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism.
• Positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and commitment to being a collaborative team member.
