SUMMARY:
We are seeking an energetic, self-motivated team member who possesses strong organizational skills and attention to detail as a Project Accountant. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, can work independently and is proactive in identifying and solving problems, meets deadlines and understands priorities. Successful candidates will be expected to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization, while working at a fast-paced environment.
This position is involved in all aspects of the company’s financial processes.
The Project Accountant is expected to support the Accounting Manager and Finance Department. Essential duties and responsibilities include:
Entering invoices for all active projects and company administrative costs into the accounting system (Sage 100 Contractor/Procore Financials). Maintain financial records and general ledger for a portfolio of projects. Reconcile monthly bank statements and subledger accounts. Produce financial statements / reports as needed. Support Project Management Team to produce accounting information and process invoices. Coordinate with Subcontractors to ensure their invoices are submitted correctly and in a timely manner.
Perform regular audits of the accounting system and confirm contact information and insurance is up to date and correct. Work with tax preparers and external auditors on year-end tax and audit preparation.
Relevant industry experience includes prior work experience in an Accounting position. Public accounting experience and CPA certification is a plus.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEREQUIRED:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field. At least 5 years of experience. Excellent organizational, problem solving, presentation, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Proficient with the following software applications (at a minimum):
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) Sage 100 or related accounting software Procore
