We are seeking a Graduate Medical Education (GME) Institutional Administrator at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, MD.

Position Overview:

The GME Institutional Administrator (GME IA) servesas the Institutional Administrator for the NIH Clinical Center Sponsoring Institution and functions as the principal administrative coordinator for the Designated Institutional Official (DIO). Under the direction of the DIO, the GME IA coordinates institutional activities necessary to support compliance with the ACGME Institutional Requirements, facilitates Graduate Medical Education Committee operations, manages institutional accreditation activities, coordinate Clinical Fellow administration, and maintains the administrative infrastructure required for institutional accreditation and educational excellence.

These activities directly support the Sponsoring Institution’s responsibilities for oversight of accredited programs and institutional accreditation under ACGME Institutional Requirements

The contractor shall:

• Support institutional compliance with all applicable ACGME Institutional Requirements.
• Coordinate sponsoring institution accreditation activities and reporting.
• Provide operational support for the responsibilities of the Graduate Medical Education Committee (GMEC) and its subcommittees.
• Coordinate administrative oversight of institutional graduate medical education activities.
• Manage the GME trainee software platform to organize and maintain GME records and evaluations.
• Support annual onboarding, appointment, and administration of Clinical Fellows.
• Coordinate training and familiarization of institutional educational policies and procedures with appropriate stakeholders.
• Support institutional action plans and continuous quality improvement.
• Maintain collaborative relationships among NIH Institutes and Centers, Program Directors, Program Coordinators, Clinical Fellows, and institutional leadership.
• Lead a forum of GME Program Coordinators to provide support and training.

Requirements:

The contractor must have:

• Bachelor's degree in health care administration, higher education administration, business administration, public health, or a related discipline. A master's degree is a plus.
• A minimum of one (1) year of direct and progressively responsible experience in graduate medical education administration, academic medicine, healthcare administration, or a comparable environment.
• Demonstrated experience supporting an ACGME-accredited residency or fellowship program; or Sponsoring Institution, Designated Institutional Official (DIO), Graduate Medical Education Committee (GMEC), or equivalent educational governance structure.
