Life Sciences Business Analyst; Entry-Level

Bio Health Innovation, Inc. (BHI), is a Montgomery County innovation intermediary which translates market-relevant research into commercial success by bringing together management, funding, and markets.

BHI is seeking a life science analyst to support the NIH SEED Office ((Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).). The analyst will provide business landscape analysis and other project support on product development, corporate strategy, and private investment for NIH-funded companies. This will entail market landscape, technology, and other business intelligence research to support Entrepreneur-in-Residence and other SEED life science commercialization activities.

Responsibilities include:

• Conduct life science business intelligence and landscape analysis (competitive business, product development, IP) of early-stage companies developing technologies across the spectrum of NIH-funded therapy areas and technology modalities, using BHI's commercial data sources (including Global Data and Pitch Book) together with NIH-provided grant data (RePORTER/QVR)
• Produce defined analytical deliverables on agreed turnaround times, including company background packages supporting pitch coaching, tracking of NIH-funded company commercialization events (acquisitions, partnerships, investments, regulatory milestones), emerging-indication trend overviews, clinical-development landscapes by technology type, and multi-region market-opportunity analyses
• Analyze technical, business, and financial data using current or creating/combining new datasets
• Manage projects and maintain a standing, regularly refreshed portfolio dashboard tracking metrics and outcomes across SEED programs and supported portfolio companies for SEED and BHI leadership
• Participate in NIH and inter-agency working groups or committees, as requested

• Bachelor’s degree required;
  Master’s or PhD in business, life sciences, biomedical sciences, or a related quantitative field preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of professional experience as a financial, market, or business intelligence analyst, with life science or biomedical industry experience
• Knowledge of product development and commercialization milestones and lifecycle
• Experience with market opportunity and competitive landscape assessment, financial modeling, or life sciences business consulting. Working knowledge of Global Data and Pitch Book required; familiarity with NIH’s RePORTER and QVR grant-data systems is expected or will be acquired quickly. Experience with additional business intelligence or investment databases (e.g., Clarivate, Crunchbase, CBInsights) is a plus
• Broad awareness of the life science sector and healthcare innovation across all therapy areas and modalities (therapeutics, devices, digital health, research tools, software, consumer health)
• Ability to effectively liaise and manage projects with internal and external key stakeholders, both within the investor/business and technical/scientific communities
• Strong organizational, analytical, communication skills with demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities
• Interest and ability working in a fast-paced environment
• Maintain flexibility in a changing environment and communicate effectively across highly matrixed organizations
• Excellent presentation skills and ability to prepare high quality, thorough and concise analyses
