Club Sci Kidz offers science, technology, and cooking summer camps for children ages 4-15 years in Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Howard, and Montgomery counties. We are hiring Lead Counselors and Instructors for Cooking Camps in Howard County
. This position is for individuals with teaching experience who are comfortable teaching and leading a group of up to 18 students. Ideal candidates have experience working in a fast-paced environment with "lots of moving parts" and have basic cooking and kitchen skills.

While our camps do teach and practice basic kitchen and cooking skills, children have fun learning about different topics using food and cooking as they make themed recipes and crafts.

Our day camps run Monday-Friday the weeks of June 22nd through August 15th. Staff hours are approximately 8:30-4:30. All four locations are in Howard County and vary throughout the summer. Camps are held in Ellicott City, Columbia, and Laurel. Salary starts at $520 per week for lead counselors and $640 for certified teachers. Salary is dependent on your teaching and cooking experience.

We

are looking for folks who:
  • Have experience and enjoy working with, teaching and leading a group of children; at least one year experience preferred
  • Enjoy cooking & baking and have basic kitchen experience & skills
  • Are organized & thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Have reliable transportation & be able to work in Cooksville, Ellicott City, Columbia & Laurel (all in Howard County)
  • Commit to work at least 5 weeks between June 22nd - August 15th.
Daily responsibilities include:
  • Supervising campers
  • Implementing provided lessons including making includes recipes, crafts and projects (all lessons, materials & supplies are provided)
  • Keeping kids engaged, while maintaining a safe environment
  • Inventory ingredients and supplies, keeping equipment and work areas clean
  • Working collaboratively with and giving direction to assistants working with you
  • Have fun with what you are doing
  • Being on time every day for your required shifts (you are scheduled by the week, so you work a whole week (Monday-Friday) for the weeks you are scheduled
