The Opportunity

Spiniello is seeking an experienced Foreman to join our field team in Baltimore and lead crews performing critical underground utility and heavy civil construction work. In this role, you will supervise daily field activities, coordinate manpower and resources, and help ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to Spiniello standards.

This is a hands‑on leadership opportunity for a construction professional who knows how to organize a crew, solve problems in the field, and lead by example. Working closely with the Superintendent, you will help turn project plans into safe, productive daily operations and keep the job moving forward.

Who This Role Is Designed For

This role is designed for an experienced construction leader who understands underground utility work, can read plans and specifications, and is comfortable directing crews in active field environments. The ideal candidate communicates clearly, makes sound decisions, holds safety and quality to a high standard, and steps in wherever needed to help the crew succeed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate daily crew activities, assign work, organize schedules, and estimate worker-hour requirements to support efficient job completion.
  • Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and field requirements; demonstrate and direct work such as pipe cut‑outs, shutdowns, cleaning, lining, and valve replacement.
  • Set up and coordinate traffic control methods and temporary bypass systems to protect workers, the public, and ongoing operations.
  • Lead by example and assist with crew activities when needed, including equipment operation, driving, and physical labor.
  • Enter excavations for inspections, monitor field conditions, and recommend measures to improve performance, quality, and work processes.
  • Coordinate the pickup, delivery, and availability of supplies, materials, and equipment needed for daily crew operations.
  • Maintain working knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal requirements and coordinate effectively with inspectors.
  • Enforce safety and environmental requirements, ensure proper PPE is used, and maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
  • Resolve day‑to‑day field issues and crew disputes, communicate concerns to the Superintendent, and keep work progressing safely and productively.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 5+ Years Experience
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 training.
  • Strong knowledge of construction safety, safe work practices, and equipment quality checks.
  • Deep knowledge of the construction industry, field operations, and construction processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Ability to organize work schedules, assign work effectively, and support daily manpower planning.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, conflict‑resolution, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform the physical duties required in an active construction environment.
