Johns Hopkins Suburban Hospital is a community-based, not-for-profit hospital serving Montgomery County and the surrounding area since 1943. The designated trauma center for Montgomery County, Suburban Hospital is fully accredited by The Joint Commission and offers both complex and routine care for a range of specialties.
Johns Hopkins Suburban Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Trauma team. This unique position focuses on inpatient rounding responsibilities. The successful candidate will work closely with surgeons, residents, and other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care and support the surgical team.
Work ScheduleRotating shifts, some weekend requirement and on call, 8.0 hours.
Key Responsibilities- Provides health care services to patients under the direction and responsibility of the attending physicians and the Clinical Director of the Department of Surgery.
- While providing surgical assistance, follows the direction of the attending surgeon having responsibility for the surgical case.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
- Successful completion of a training program, accredited by the American Medical Association for Physician Assistants Licensure/Certification/Registration.
- Current Maryland State license from Board of Physician Quality Assurance.
- Certification by the National Commission for Certification of the Physician Assistants at time of hire or within one year of initial employment.
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
- Central Venous Catheterization and Placement of Chest Tubes require special Certification by Board of Physician Quality Assurance.
- At least 1 year as a Surgical PA in an acute care operating room preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and proficiency in using healthcare technology.

Minimum 81.51/hour - Maximum 81.51/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
