Teaching Formats:
Day, evening, weekend, in person, hybrid, and online

Primary Responsibilities
  • Teach a 15‑faculty‑load hour course per semester across lectures, labs, simulation, and activity classes in the Nursing program.
  • Provide six office hours per week during fall and spring terms, including student advising and mentoring.
  • Assess student learning and engage with students inside and outside the classroom.
  • Participate in departmental, school, and college/community service.
  • Work flexible days, evenings, and weekends as required by the teaching schedule and student needs.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Mentor students from target groups and new full‑time or part‑time faculty.
  • Design, format, and deliver curriculum for all learning modalities.
  • Partner with colleagues to enhance services to students and the community.
  • Deviate retention strategies and activities.
  • Establish and strengthen collaborative relationships with clinical partners and community organizations.
Required Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in nursing.
  • Minimum of two years of current nursing experience in Critical Care and/or Medical Surgical Nursing.
  • One year of experience with teaching and curriculum development.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Current Registered Nurse license.
  • CPR certified.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in nursing education.
  • Ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary and team‑based environments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Doctoral degree in Nursing (PhD, DNP, or EdD) or a related field.
  • Certification in a nursing specialty (e.g., CNE, FNP‑BC, CCRN).
  • Demonstrated excellence in classroom, clinical, or online teaching at the collegiate level.
  • Experience in curriculum development, evaluation, and accreditation processes.
  • Familiarity with simulation‑based and technology‑enhanced teaching methods.
  • Evidence of student mentorship, advising, or supervision of clinical experiences.
  • Proficiency with learning management systems.

Pay dates occur on the 7th and 22nd of each month; if those dates fall on a weekend, the pay date occurs on the Friday prior to the 7th and 22nd. As an employee of the college, you are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package.

In the best interest of the College, only individuals who are residents of Maryland or one of the following states will be eligible for employment at the college:
Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, or the District of Columbia. The college will review this restriction annually and, if appropriate, may expand the list of states of employment eligibility.
