Salary
- Adjunct Level 1: $1,085 per credit hour
- Adjunct faculty may teach up to 22 credit hours per year, typically no more than 11 per semester
The Community College of Baltimore County seeks Adjunct Physical Science Faculty to teach Astronomy lecture and lab courses during day and evening sessions.
Responsibilities Include Vocational & Continuing Education- Preparing and delivering engaging, effective instruction in Astronomy
- Cooperating with College support staff for timely submission of instructional materials and grades
- Coordinating activities with the Department Chairperson or Discipline Coordinator
- Holding one office hour per week per class to assist students
- Participating in departmental or college-wide activities
- Engaging in professional development opportunities
Campus assignments may vary among CCBC’s 3 campuses, 3 centres, and additional community locations.
Minimum Qualifications- For Lecture Courses:
Master of Science (M.S.) in Astronomy or a related field with relevant coursework - For Lab Instruction:
Bachelor of Science (B.S.) with appropriate education and experience - Preferred:
Prior instructional or teaching experience in astronomy or physical sciences
