FEA Engineer

Salary Range
: $80,000 - $120,000 USD per year

Location:

Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division, West Bethesda, MD – full-time, permanent position.

• Perform finite element modeling and analysis of naval systems and components.
• Analyze and evaluate the acoustic behavior of navy vessels and test articles.
• Design and evaluate acoustic signature mitigation techniques.
• Produce technical documents and reports.

• Minimum Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
• Advanced degree preferred.
• 2-3 years of finite element modeling experience desired.

• Understanding of structural dynamics and vibration.
• Understanding of acoustic signatures.
• Ability to perform finite element modeling and analysis.
• Ability to write automation scripting tools using MATLAB.
• Familiar with finite element analysis software such as Abaqus.
• Familiar with finite element mesh generation tools such as Hyper Mesh.

Candidate must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance or favorable adjudication of a national security background investigation. Current successful background investigation completion is a plus.
