Entry-level Data Scientist

What You’ll Get to Do:

• Provide engineering and physical insight into mechanical and marine systems for a data science team.
• Support root cause analysis of ship system under-performance or detected anomalies.
• Apply engineering principles to identify trends and events in complex ship data.
• Develop hypothesis and goals for independent investigations.
• Communicate results through reports and presentations to a non-technical audience.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance. (US Citizenship is required in order to obtain a security clearance from the DoD.)
• Bachelor’s Degree in Marine, Mechanical, or related engineering field.
• Minimum 3 years of related work experience.
• Comfortable with Python for data analysis.
• Experience with signal processing or time series analysis.
• Knowledge of numerical and optimization methods.

• Currently hold an active Secret Security Clearance.
• Knowledge of fluids, aerodynamics, thermodynamics, or structures.
• Experience with parallel or GPU computing.
• Interest in data science, machine learning, or deep learning concepts.
• Aircraft data experience.
