Senior Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer to support our client in Bethesda, MD
. The Senior Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer (Azure) will design, build, and operate secure, scalable Azure infrastructure supporting enterprise IT workloads and modern application platforms, partnering closely with security, operations, and application development teams.

• Design, deploy, and operate Microsoft Azure infrastructure including compute, storage, backup, and disaster recovery services
• Own reliability, performance, monitoring, and lifecycle management of production Azure environments
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Bicep, ARM, or equivalent frameworks
• Design and maintain secure Azure networking architectures including hub-and-spoke models, Private Link, and Private Endpoints
• Implement and test backup, restore, and disaster recovery solutions using Azure Backup and Azure Site Recovery
• Support modern application platforms by enabling secure app-to-service communication and CI/CD-aligned infrastructure
• Collaborate with security, IT operations, and application teams during architecture reviews, incidents, and planned changes

• 7+ years of experience in infrastructure, cloud, or systems engineering roles
• Strong hands‑on experience designing and operating Microsoft Azure environments
• Experience supporting production cloud infrastructure at enterprise scale
• Solid understanding of Azure networking, security, and identity concepts
• Experience implementing backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions
• Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues across compute, storage, and networking
• Experience working in regulated or compliance‑driven environment

• Salary Range: $170,000-$185,000 depending on experience
