Sales Engineer (Paint, Powder Coating, & Fluid Dispensing Systems) DescriptionOur client in the industrial manufacturing solutions industry is looking for a Sales Engineer to add to their team covering their Mid-Atlantic territory. In this role, you will serve as a technical consultant and customer-facing manufacturing specialist, helping customers improve production through industrial paint, powder coating, fluid dispensing, adhesive, and sealant application systems. The ideal candidate has an educational background in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field,
OR hands-on experience with fluid handling, pumps, metering and mixing systems, coating application equipment, adhesives, sealants, or industrial finishing processes. To succeed in this role, you must be technically curious, relationship-driven, and comfortable solving manufacturing challenges while providing consultative technical support from evaluation through implementation. - Evaluate customer finishing and assembly lines and identify process improvement opportunities
- Recommend industrial paint, powder coating, adhesive, sealant, and fluid dispensing equipment
- Partner with sales to support customer meetings, presentations, and technical recommendations
- Conduct equipment demonstrations for customers and manufacturing teams
- Assess existing coating and fluid delivery systems and recommend upgrades or automation
- Configure coating application equipment, fluid delivery systems, and metering equipment
- Create bills of materials (BOMs) to support customer quotes and proposals
- Assist with implementation, startup, and commissioning of recommended solutions
- Troubleshoot coating equipment, fluid dispensing systems, and manufacturing process challenges
- Provide technical training on equipment operation, maintenance, and best practices
- Stay current on coating technologies, fluid dispensing equipment, and industry trends
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering OR hands‑on fluid handling/dispensing equipment experience required
- Strong mechanical aptitude and technical problem-solving skills are required
- Strong customer-facing, consultative communication and relationship‑building skills are required
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout the assigned territory are required
