The Director of Finance leads the organization’s financial planning and analysis, and treasury (Investment, Cash Management, Insurance Purchasing) functions to support strategic decision-making and operational effectiveness. This role is responsible for developing organizational budgets/forecasts, scenario planning, conducting ROI and ad-hoc analyses, forecasting, and work to support management of the investment portfolio. Secondary responsibilities include serving as a back-up to the Controller in overseeing core accounting operations, ensuring continuity of financial reporting and compliance.
Responsibilities:Planning & Analysis (Primary):
- Lead development and management of the annual budget and long-term financial plan.
- Provide financial forecasts and scenario modeling to support strategic and operational decisions.
- Conduct ROI, ad-hoc, and variance analyses to evaluate business initiatives and investments.
- Support investment management activities with outside parties and provide performance monitoring and reporting.
- Deliver financial dashboards and reports for senior leadership and the Board.
- Partner with business leaders to identify opportunities for efficiency, growth, and risk management.
- Work with AVP of Finance to coordinate Senior Leadership Operational reviews (C ).
- Work with AVP of Finance to coordinate Insurance Purchasing.
- Work with Senior Budget Analyst to develop standard process and procedures, and development of the software solutions.
- Serve as back-up to Controller in managing month-end close and reporting processes.
- Support preparation of internal financial statements and regulatory filings as needed.
- Assist in audits, compliance reviews, and accounting policy updates when required.
- Provide oversight of treasury operations to ensure liquidity and cash management continuity.
- Manage and develop a senior budget analyst and team more broadly.
- Measure via metrics and clear outcomes.
- Set clear objectives, provide feedback, and support career development
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred
- Typically requires 10 years of progressive experience in financial planning, analysis, or accounting
- Strong background in budgeting, forecasting, and investment management
- Experience in ROI analysis, performance measurement, and financial modeling
- Supervisory experience with a proven ability to develop high-performing teams
- Proficiency in Excel, financial systems, and Microsoft Office products
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, evolving environment
The below annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
Salary Range: $140,000 USD - $175,000 USD
