The Treasury & Investment Manager leads and supports the organization’s treasury, liquidity, investment management, and insurance purchasing activities. This role provides oversight of cash management and forecasting, investment operations and performance monitoring, and the corporate insurance purchasing process. The role also develops analysis and recommendations for senior management and the Board and drives continuous improvement in treasury and investment processes, controls, data, and reporting.
RESPONSIBILTIES:Treasury & Liquidity Management
- Lead day-to-day treasury activities, including cash positioning, liquidity management, bank account oversight, and short- and long-term cash forecasting.
- Coordinate cash needs across operating activities, claims payments, investment activity, capital calls, and other significant cash requirements.
- Coordinate the organization’s corporate insurance purchasing and renewal process in partnership with the AVP of Finance, internal stakeholders, and insurance brokers.
- Support investment management activities, coordinate with consultants, and perform investment performance and allocation monitoring.
- Coordinate due diligence, onboarding, capital calls, distributions, funding, and other operational activities for investments.
- Develop and maintain forecasts of investment income, cash flows, and portfolio activity for use in financial planning, capital management, and strategic decision-making.
- Prepare treasury and investment financial dashboards, memos and reports for senior leadership and the Board
- Maintain policies, procedures, documentation, and controls for treasury, investments, and insurance purchasing.
- Lead point of contact for ERM on Investment holdings.
- Support strategic projects, financial analyses, and other Finance initiatives as assigned.
- This position requires adherence to United Educators' cybersecurity policies and industry best practices to protect company and member data. Employees must incorporate security-conscious practices appropriate to their role into daily work and complete required security training.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field; MBA or professional certification (such as CFA and CTP) a plus
- Typically requires 6 to 8 years of relevant experience in treasury, investments, corporate finance, insurance finance, or related disciplines, with progressive responsibility
- Strong knowledge of cash management, liquidity forecasting, and investment analysis
- Experience in the insurance industry or another regulated financial services environment is strongly preferred
- Strong analytical, financial modeling, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear recommendations
- Proficiency in Excel, financial systems, and Microsoft Office products; experience with Power BI and AI tools is a plus
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
