Surgical Technologist

Sterling Medical is seeking a full-time Surgical Technologist to join our team at Sterling Medical.

Location:Walter Reed National Military Medical Center

Shifts:
Day Shift 6:45 - 5:15 (10 hr) or 10:45AM to 7:15 PM (8 hr)

Evenings- 2:45 - 11:15

Nights 11:45 PM to 7:15 AM

Qualifications:

The Surgical Technologist in support of the Main Operation Room shall meet the general qualifications that apply to all healthcare providers and shall meet the following additional qualifications:

• Education: Graduate from Surgical Technology program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or completion of a formal training program provided by any branch of the U.S. Armed Forces (Army, Navy, or Air Force) for surgical technicians, surgical technologists or operating room technicians.

• Certifications in addition to Basic Life Support: Basic Life Support (BLS Provider), Certified as a Surgical Technologist (CST) from The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or certified as a Tech-in-Surgery (TS-C) from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) or possess a Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) certification as an surgical technician and/or operating room technician.
• Experience:

Three years of experience with the last five years as a Surgical Technician or Operating Room Technician. The contract employee shall have one year of combined experience in Orthopedic, Spine, Neurosurgical, General Surgery, Gynecology, Obstetrics, Ophthalmology, Urology, Da Vinci Surgery, or a variety of surgical experience.
