Analytica is seeking a Data Governance Lead to support one or more dynamic, long-term federal government enterprise data programs. The ideal candidate will serve as the technical lead for architecture and implementation of cloud and hybrid big data solutions for large federal enterprises looking to modernize their data operations.
Analytica offers a hybrid role requiring one on-site day per week with competitive base salary, bonuses, employer‑paid health care, training and development funds, and a 401(k) match.
Responsibilities- Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of enterprise data governance programs, ensuring data is discoverable, trusted, secure, and compliant with federal standards.
- Define and enforce data governance policies, including data ownership, stewardship, classification, retention, and lifecycle management.
- Establish and maintain data standards for metadata, data modeling (conceptual, logical, physical), naming conventions, lineage, and data quality metrics.
- Oversee the development and adoption of enterprise metadata management, data catalogs, and business glossaries to support transparency and reuse.
- Partner with business, analytics, and engineering stakeholders to translate regulatory and mission requirements into governed data architectures.
- Assess source system data quality, define remediation strategies, and implement data quality monitoring and controls.
- Design and govern master and reference data management (MDM/RDM) strategies aligned to enterprise and mission needs.
- Ensure alignment with data security, privacy, and access control requirements, including role‑based access and attribute‑based controls.
- Review and approve data architecture deliverables to ensure compliance with governance standards and federal best practices.
- Produce and maintain high‑quality governance artifacts, including data dictionaries, lineage diagrams, glossaries, governance playbooks, and compliance documentation.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on data governance and architecture in support of federal proposals and solution design efforts.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience designing and governing enterprise data platforms in complex environments.
- 5+ years of experience implementing data governance, metadata management, or data quality frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of the end‑to‑end data and analytics lifecycle, including governance, engineering, quality, and consumption.
- Hands‑on experience building cloud production data solutions leveraging cloud solutions.
- Experience implementing governance tooling such as Alation, Microsoft Purview, Databricks Unity Catalog, Collibra, or similar platforms.
- Deep understanding of federal data governance, security, and compliance requirements.
- Experience leading or supporting on‑premises to cloud data migrations with governance embedded by design.
- Certification on major data governance platform preferred.
- Ability to obtain Public Trust Clearance.
