Security Infrastructure Support Senior Security Engineer

Overview

Our client is seeking a Security Infrastructure Support Senior Security Engineer to join their team! This position is located in Bethesda, Maryland.

• Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise IT security systems across hybrid infrastructures on-premises and cloud.
• Implement, configure, and administer cybersecurity tools and SIEM platforms to support threat detection and monitoring.
• Develop and maintain secure cloud environments (AWS, Azure, O365), including migrations and hardening.
• Apply Dev Sec Ops  practices to integrate security into development, build, and deployment processes.
• Create and maintain automation scripts and tools (Python preferred) for monitoring, alerting, and incident response.
• Support virtualization platforms and ensure secure configuration, monitoring, and maintenance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and third-party vendors to enhance security posture.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and analysts.
• Communicate complex security concepts and recommendations effectively to technical and non-technical audiences, including executive leadership.
• Ensure all systems and processes comply with federal cybersecurity frameworks, including FISMA, NIST, and CDM standards.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience designing, installing, maintaining, and supporting enterprise IT systems.
• 5+ years of experience at the Senior Engineer level or higher.
• 3+ years of hands‑on experience with cybersecurity tools or SIEM implementation and administration.
• Experience supporting hybrid infrastructures on-prem and cloud.
• Strong familiarity with cloud security concepts, services, and operations (AWS, Azure, O365), including migration and security hardening.
• Understanding of core virtualization technologies and secure configuration practices.
• Knowledge and experience applying Dev Sec Ops  practices to security operations.
• Strong scripting and automation skills, particularly Python.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for conveying technical security concepts to diverse audiences.
• Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and third-party vendors.

The approximate pay range for this position is between $95.00 and $125.00.
