Overview
GovCIO is currently hiring for a Systems Engineer - Level III / Senior Network Architect; SME in Site-to-site and Remote Access VPN for our NIH-CIT Proposal. This position will be located in Rockville, MD and will be a hybrid role.
ResponsibilitiesThe SME role’s responsibilities include:
- Coordinate with the Section Manager to evaluate, design, and test architecture designs and services from the roadmap backlog
- Lead the transition of user accepted designs and services to the Operations and Security Teams
- Provide subject matter expertise in Site-to-Site VPN
- Provide subject matter expertise in Remote Access VPN
The Network Architecture Section responsibilities include:
- Strategically plan, architect, design, engineer, develop, test, implement, modernize, and enhance the functional capabilities, capacity, and performance of the NIH Network and TIC Services in alignment with NIH future state architecture objectives
- Software and hardware installation, configuration, upgrades, and maintenance
- Team with the Security Section to achieve security architecture requirements
- Maintain technical architecture documentation
- Troubleshooting and problem resolution
- Change management
- Support resources responsible for security implementation, monitoring, maintenance, and vulnerability remediation
Strategic & Transformative planning for network architecture services
Qualifications- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or other related discipline and have at least one of the Cisco CCIE certifications, both the written and practical. Within each of the Cisco Certifications, the following specializations are needed and listed in order of importance:
Routing and Switching, Service Provider, Data Center, and Wireless OR Experience required is 8‑plus years in Network Services and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or other related discipline - Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance
