Piper Companies is seeking a Senior Data Quality Lead to support a leading financial services organization’s enterprise data platform modernization. This exclusive engagement will focus on building and scaling a data quality framework across a modern Azure and Microsoft Fabric environment. This role is onsite in Bethesda, MD (4 days per week) and offers the opportunity to define and own data quality practices within a high-impact, greenfield initiative.
This position is structured as contract-to-hire with strong intent for full-time conversion.
The Senior Data Quality Lead will serve as the founding leader for enterprise data quality, partnering closely with engineering, analytics, and business teams to ensure trusted, high-quality data across the organization. This individual will design and implement a scalable data quality framework, establish validation standards, and ensure that data pipelines are delivering clean, reliable, and audit‑ready data for business consumption.
Responsibilities of the Senior Data Quality Lead include:- Design and implement an enterprise data quality framework, including validation rules, thresholds, and governance processes
- Partner with data engineering teams to ensure quality across data pipelines (ADF → Fabric) and overall data lifecycle
- Develop and execute data validation, reconciliation, and certification processes across multiple data layers
- Identify and resolve data quality issues, bottlenecks, and inconsistencies before data reaches business users
- Establish monitoring and reporting mechanisms to track data health, quality metrics, and exceptions
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into data quality standards and controls
- Drive alignment across engineering, analytics, and business teams to ensure consistent data practices
- Support documentation, governance, and continuous improvement of data quality processes
- 5+ years of experience in data quality, data engineering, or data governance roles
- Hands‑on experience working in Azure data environments, including ADF and/or Microsoft Fabric
- Strong proficiency in SQL and data validation techniques
- Proven experience building or contributing to data quality frameworks or QA processes
- Experience working with data pipelines, ETL processes, and large datasets
- Strong business acumen, ideally within financial services or regulated environments
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work across technical and business teams
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- Salary Range: $60/hr – $67/hr
