Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Security Infrastructure Support AWS Infrastructure and Cloud Security Support SME to join their team! This position is located in Bethesday, Maryland.
Responsibilities- Architect, deploy, and manage AWS services: EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, Cloud Trail, Guard Duty, Security Hub, etc. in hybrid cloud/on‑premises environments
- Integrate AWS Gov Cloud or FedRAMP environments with on‑premises security tools:
Splunk, Cribl, Archer, etc. for monitoring and compliance - Develop, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure‑as‑Code (IaC) workflows using Terraform, Cloud Formation, or Ansible
- Implement Dev Sec Ops practices, integrating security scanning and automation into build and release processes
- Manage cloud security operations, including continuous monitoring, log ingestion, alerting, and compliance reporting
- Provide cost optimization guidance for AWS services, including budgeting, billing analysis, reserved instance management, and rightsizing strategies
- Create and maintain architecture diagrams, technical SOPs, compliance documentation, and reporting for federal stakeholders
- Lead and coordinate across multiple teams:
Infrastructure, Security, Dev Ops, Application teams to ensure secure and efficient operations - Serve as a subject matter expert to advise federal program managers, CORs, and technical teams on cloud security best practices and risk mitigation
- 8+ years of experience in IT infrastructure and security operations
- 5+ years of hands‑on experience architecting, deploying, and managing AWS cloud services
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional preferred or equivalent CSP experience
- At least one security‑related certification: CISSP, CISM, AWS Security Specialty
- Proven expertise in hybrid cloud/on‑premises architectures and integration with security tools
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure‑as‑Code (IaC) tools:
Terraform, Cloud Formation, Ansible - Strong knowledge of Dev Sec Ops practices and integrating security into automated pipelines
- Hands‑on experience with cloud security operations, monitoring, log ingestion, and compliance reporting
- Strong understanding of federal compliance frameworks: FISMA, NIST 800‑53, OMB M‑21‑31
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder reporting skills
- Ability to coordinate and lead cross‑functional teams in complex, technical initiatives
- Demonstrated ability to create professional technical designs, architecture diagrams, SOPs, and compliance documentation
