Leidos is seeking a Cloud Engineer to support the National Digital Exploitation & OSINT Center (NDOC) IT Operations and Maintenance (O&M) program. This position will support mission-critical cloud, virtualization, automation, and hybrid infrastructure initiatives across classified enterprise environments. The Cloud Engineer will help modernize, secure, and sustain cloud-hosted and on-premises infrastructure supporting operational mission systems.
This role is a hands‑on engineering position focusing on enterprise cloud integration, infrastructure automation, cybersecurity compliance, virtualization, and operational sustainment.
The work will be performed 100% on‑site at the customer location in Bethesda at the Intelligence Community Campus.
Primary Responsibilities- Design, deploy, manage, and sustain secure hybrid cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, VMware, and on‑premises environments.
- Support virtualization platforms including VMware ESXi, vCenter, Hyper‑V, VDI, and cloud‑native virtualization technologies.
- Engineer and maintain cloud networking solutions including VPCs, VNets, VPNs, routing, DNS, load balancers, firewalls, and network segmentation.
- Deploy and maintain containerized environments utilizing Docker, Kubernetes, and related technologies.
- Monitor system performance, cloud utilization, scalability, and operational health.
- Troubleshoot cloud, network, virtualization, storage, and infrastructure issues and perform root‑cause analysis.
- Implement security best practices including IAM, RBAC, encryption, vulnerability remediation, and Zero Trust principles.
- Support RMF, ICD 503, NIST 800‑53, STIG, and cybersecurity compliance requirements.
- Assist with migration and modernization of legacy systems into cloud and hybrid cloud environments.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with Systems, Network, Storage, Security, Database, Citrix, and Data Center teams to support integrated enterprise operations.
- Experience supporting AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Oracle Cloud, VMware, or hybrid cloud environments.
- Experience with virtualization technologies including VMware ESXi, vCenter, Hyper‑V, or Open Stack.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or containerized platforms.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, routing, subnets, firewalls, and load balancing.
- Experience supporting Linux and Windows enterprise environments.
- Familiarity with Dev Sec Ops , CI/CD pipelines, automation, and scripting using Python, Bash, or Power Shell.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
- Candidate must, at a minimum, meet DoD 8140/8570.11‑IAT Level II certification requirements (currently Security+ CE, CCNA‑Security, GSEC, or SSCP along with an appropriate computing environment (CE) certification).
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related technical discipline with 12 years of relevant experience;
Master’s degree with 10 years. Education equivalency of Associate’s with 14 years of related experience or High School Diploma with 16 years of related experience can be used in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.
- Due to the nature of the government contracts we support, US Citizenship is required.
- TS/SCI with Poly required for Position or TS/SCI and willingness to obtain a poly.
- Experience supporting DoD, DIA, Intelligence Community, or classified cloud environments.
- Experience with AWS C2S, Azure Government, or hybrid classified cloud architectures.
- Experience with Zero Trust architecture and enterprise IAM solutions.
- Experience with Splunk, Elastic, SIEM/SOAR, or enterprise monitoring platforms.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect
- Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Azure Administrator Associate
- VMware VCP
- CISSP or CCSP
