VMware System Engineer; TS​/SCI Scope Polygraph

Overview

Our client is seeking a VMware System Engineer with a Full Scope Polygraph to support a mission‑critical environment in Annapolis Junction, MD. This role will be instrumental in redesigning and optimizing VMware infrastructure as the organization transitions to a Hardware as a Service (HWaaS) platform. The ideal candidate is a Maryland resident holding an active Top Secret/SCI Clearance with Full Scope Polygraph
, with proven expertise in VMware vCenter and system administration
, and hands‑on experience with Cisco switches, VPNs, VLANs, and server deployment
.

• The VMware Engineer will lead architectural design, system migration, and administration of VMware environments, ensuring secure, optimized, and scalable operations
  .
• The role requires close collaboration with network, storage, and security teams while driving automation, optimization, and standardization across platforms.

• Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance with Full Scope Polygraph
  .
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent experience).
• Deep knowledge and experience with VMware vCenter and VMware system administration
  .
• Experience migrating from VMware 7.x to 8.x.
• Hands‑on experience with Cisco switches, VPNs, VLANs, and server deployment
  .
• Proficiency in Windows and Linux system administration
  , including patching and sustainment.
• Familiarity with Storage Area Networks (SAN) and Power Distribution Units (PDU).
• Knowledge of enclave security and firewall technologies (e.g., VMware NSX, Cisco ASA).

• Experience with VMware NSX

• Knowledge of Hardware as a Service (HWaaS) platform.
• Strong background in system optimization, automation, and infrastructure design
