Senior Linux Systems Administrator – Annapolis Junction, MD

• Design, maintain, and support operations and maintenance (O&M) activities of a large enclave that includes server architecture, virtual machines, managed switches, NAS, VLANs, and VPNs.
• Develop and carry out strategies to migrate existing customers to new architecture and technology with minimal impact.
• Evaluate new technologies or equipment that can be added to agency standard solutions.

• Network administration experience including installing, configuring, and maintaining network devices; configuring routing protocols, troubleshooting multi‑hop connectivity, throughput, and latency; setting up firewalls.
• Responsible for secure infrastructure, vulnerability corrections, data security, compliance, and backup and recovery.
• Maintain SSPs, STE/STN requirements via RMF, Netseer, SEAR logging, patching, IAVMs, McAfee, and UAM.
• Provide user‑level support, interacting with system‑savvy developers and analysts, and resolving network, computer, and virtual system issues and anomalies.
• Maintain enclave documentation (network diagram, system names, IP addresses, barcodes, etc.) and provide monthly activity reports, including system outages.
• Experience deploying and maintaining nginx; system monitoring platforms such as OpenVAS, Prometheus, and Grafana; SELinux and FIPS compliance.
• Knowledge of Latte Art/Biscotti, Netseer, SEAR logging.
• Bachelor’s degree plus 11 years of relevant experience or equivalent.

• Familiarity with Docker, MongoDB, and Elastic Search;
  Ansible and Git Lab;
  Red Hat Satellite.
• Working knowledge of software‑defined networks.

Compensation: $177,000 – $198,000 per year.

Clearance Requirement:
This position requires an active TS/SCI with a polygraph. The candidate must be a U.S. citizen.
