Data Scientist Security Clearance

Altamira Technologies is seeking a Data Scientist 2 to support key activities in defense of emerging threats in the cybersecurity domain. The role requires collaboration with our software engineering and threat analyst teams to model complex data across many databases and technology stacks.

• Independently create mission‑specific and tailored tradecraft automated solutions that integrate directly into the architecture.
• Implement best practices in knowledge management and create automated solutions using Python, Jupyter Notebooks, Elastic Search/Kibana, and SQL.
• Develop statistical and graph‑based algorithms to analyze and interpret data sets.
• Clean and structure disparate data received from a globally dispersed customer base.
• Provide insight into dataset structures and produce data visualizations consumable by both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Translate mission customer qualitative analysis processes and goals into quantitative formulations coded into software prototypes.
• Develop and implement statistical and machine‑learning techniques to create descriptive and predictive analytics.
• Collaborate with analyst teams to conduct data analysis, create visualizations, and construct data pipelines.
• Support cybersecurity mission environments by generating threat intelligence and working closely with cybersecurity analyst teams.

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline (statistics, mathematics, operations research, engineering, or computer science).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in at least two of the following domains: designing/implementing machine learning, data mining, advanced analytical algorithms, advanced statistical analysis, artificial intelligence, or software engineering with data analysis software (R, Python, SAS, MATLAB).
• 7+ years of experience in the same fields.
• U.S. Citizenship and active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.
• Proficiency with Python/Jupyter Notebooks and SQL relational databases.
• Experience with Elastic Search/Kibana/Open Search; experience with Java is a plus.
• Experience with Windows server management and Power BI Report Service.
• Background working with analyst teams, including data analysis and visualization.
• Experience with graph analytics, data pipelines, and IP‑based network data is a plus.
• Experience working within a cybersecurity mission environment.
• Master’s or Doctoral Degree in a quantitative discipline may substitute for experience.
