Position Overview:
Provide a reliable, highly available platform that orchestrates the microservices of a modernized operational system using cutting‑edge technologies. The Dev Ops Engineer will architect, automate, and support infrastructure, containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud cost optimization.
- Provide a reliable, highly available platform that orchestrates the microservices of a modernized operational system.
- Architect infrastructure leveraging AWS technologies and services.
- Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and scripting to automate tasks, provision managed services, and build tools.
- Install, configure, and provide performance tuning utilizing Kubernetes, EKS, ECS, Docker, Docker Compose, etc.
- Perform high‑level functional systems analysis, design, integration, documentation, cost analysis, implementation, and complex issue resolutions.
- Iteratively evaluate costs, recommend cost savings measures, reduce maintenance, and reduce AWS services costs.
- Decompose sprint priorities and generate tickets to align with internal team priorities.
- Manage team tasking and sprint workloads.
- Track ticket execution while driving technical direction of the infrastructure to align with program and product needs.
- Manage CI/CD pipelines to automate building, testing, and deploying code utilizing Git Lab runners and Argo CD.
- Extensive experience architecting infrastructure leveraging AWS technologies and services.
- Experience developing IaC and scripting to automate tasks, provision managed services, and build tools.
- Proficiency with Python, Ansible, Terraform for Dev Ops automation.
- Strong background in containerization technologies; install, configure, and performance‑tune Kubernetes, EKS, ECS, Docker, Docker Compose, etc.
- High‑level functional systems analysis, design, integration, documentation, cost analysis, implementation, and complex issue resolution.
- Cloud infrastructure cost‑savings: evaluate costs, recommend savings, reduce maintenance, and lower AWS service costs.
- Decompose sprint priorities and generate tickets to align with internal team priorities.
- Manage team tasking and sprint workloads, ensuring coordinated execution.
- Track ticket execution while directing technical infrastructure alignment with program and product needs.
- Manage CI/CD pipelines to automate building, testing, and deploying code with Git Lab runners and Argo CD.
- Effective communication and collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
- Design, build, and maintain AWS infrastructure including EC2, Lambdas, S3, SNS, SQS, Event Bridge, Athena, Step Functions using Terraform and auto‑scaling.
- Understanding of AWS networking principles: VPC, NAT, IGW.
- Develop and manage Git Lab CI/CD pipelines to automate deployment.
- Collaborate with development teams to optimize application performance and reliability.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and ensure system uptime.
- Kubernetes experience focused on EKS, ECS, and/or Fargate.
Dev Ops Engineer 4: 12 years or more of professional experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 10 years of professional experience with a related Master's degree.
Dev Ops Engineer 5: 15 years or more of professional experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 13 years of professional experience with a related Master's degree.
The position allows little to no work from home and requires a significant portion or all work to be performed in a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF).
Salary Range$216,000 – $275,000 (Annually). The displayed range is indicative; final compensation will be based on experience, location and contractual terms.
