Position: INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (ENTARCH).

Duties

  • You will brief senior leadership on complex transformation engineering plans, presenting clear return on investment (ROI) and mission‑readiness metrics.
  • You will cultivate strategic partnerships across intelligence agencies, Department of War (DoW) commands, and contractor facilities to synchronize information technology (IT) efforts.
  • You will design and manage the enterprise framework using Department of War (DoW) Architecture Framework and modern modeling methodologies.
  • You will serve as a critical member of the Cybersecurity Workforce (CSWF), directly enabling authorizations to operate (ATOs) on classified networks.
Conditions of Employment

  • This position may require a 2‑year DCIPS Trial Period.
  • This position may require a polygraph examination.
  • PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
  • Travel may be required to CONUS and OCONUS and to remote or isolated sites. Ability to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods is required.
  • Mission Essential position – ensures essential operations continuity and task completion per local or command decision.
  • Work Role Code (651 – Enterprise Architecture), Proficiency Level (Advanced). Must obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and DoN policies.
Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities relevant to the duties described above.

At Least One Year of Specialized Experience (GS/GG‑12 or equivalent)
  • Develops and maintains reference models within the IT repository to map business units and key operational processes.
  • Conducts gap analyses between current and target architectures, designing actionable transition roadmaps.
  • Engineers detailed network and accreditation diagrams (hardware, software, ports, protocols, services).
  • Enforces rigorous compliance with Information Assurance (IA) and cybersecurity policies across all architectural layers.
  • Establishes and promulgates IT standards for in‑house development and contracted initiatives.
  • Drives enterprise‑wide technical integration by leading collaborative test planning, validation efforts, and peer reviews.
  • Researches, prototypes, and tests emerging technology solutions to optimize IT investments.
  • Leads architectural governance and IT portfolio management activities for alignment with target architecture.
  • Evaluates strategic impact of enterprise architecture products on business operations and stakeholder satisfaction.
Additional Information
  • Earn and maintain appropriate credentials from the Cyber IT/CSWF Qualification Matrix associated with specialty area 65 – Enterprise Architecture and level commensurate with major duties.
  • Participate in a continuous learning program per SECNAVINST 1543.2, documenting a minimum of 40 hours of CSWF‑related learning annually.

This position performs a primary cyber work role of 651 – Enterprise Architecture, per the DoD Cyber Workforce Framework.

A relocation incentive may be authorized to eligible selectees to offset relocation costs.

The position is subject to an initial drug screening and random testing thereafter. Failure to meet pre‑employment requirements may result in withdrawn offer or removal from federal service.

The position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
